“Thadeous.” She said, looking at me with hope gleaming in her eyes. “You don’t have to stay with me.”
Cassidia lay in her bed, looking so fragile yet so charming. I couldn’t help but smile at her, as to me her words were silly. For the little time that I had known her, she had been a breath of fresh air for me. All my life, I had tried my best to follow the teachings of my father, yet one thing had eluded me. Now, it seemed I had finally found what it was he had explained to me. She was everything I had hoped for and more.
“Cassidia.” I said, holding in my laughter. “Why would I want to leave you?”
“You already saved my life.” She explained, looking at me nervously. “I am on the mend now. You have already done so much for me. I can’t possibly expect you to feel obliged to…”
“Feel obliged?” I asked, hearing the shock in my voice. “Cassidia, you really don’t understand, do you?”
“Thadeous, you are very noble and very brave, but you really have done enough. If you wish to go, then I can’t hold you here any longer.”
“Cassidia, I do not wish to go.” I said, reaching for her hand. It was small in mine. With my thumb I stroked her delicate hand, and pleaded with my eyes for her to understand me. “I want to stay here… With you.”
“Thadeous?” She said, looking at me longingly. “Do you mean?”
“Yes.” I answered, not needing any more. “I want to stay with you.”
“I want you to stay, too.” She said happily. Her eyes were open wide and this news brightened her entire face. She looked beautiful.
“From the moment I first saw you, I have not been able to get you out of my mind.” I said.
“Thank you.” She said, squeezing my hand in hers. “I really and truly love you.”

I reached Lindblum within a few days, having not slept at all since I awoke after the tournament. One thing was on my mind, and it was enough to drive me. Cassidia was in trouble and I had to something, anything. I reached the destination of the warehouse, the last place I had seen Dojebon. The door buckled instantly under the full weight of my axe, as I swung hard and true. Shards of wood flew in different directions, and the light from behind me spread across the floor. One thing was clear, no one had been here for days. I had travelled all that way for nothing. Cassidia was still in trouble and I had not the faintest idea where she could be. I entered anyway, hoping for any clue as to where they may have headed off to. Then, I noticed a note held to the back wall with an arrow pinning it in. I hurried straight to it, and read it through quickly.
I have a friend of Thadeous' in captivity. If you do not show up in the Evil Forest at the exact coordinates that I give to you, I will have no other choice than to execute her.
Sincerely, Dojebon
The Evil forest. The coordinate were stamped at the bottom, so I had little time to get back. But the hope was there. It would carry me further.
