“Wow, I bet you can’t wait to start the tournament.” Some no name guy said to me who so overly has the biggest crush on me. Just like the rest of the male students in this dump. Not that I cared, they’re all nobodies to me.
“Do you not feel bad that you might have to fight your sister?” some other guy asked. Well that was a stupid question! I wasn’t going to talk to this idiot again. Everyone knows that I don’t give two damns about my goodie, goodie sister. At least, all the girls here seem to know, but these boy are just trying too hard to kiss my ass. Well they definitely are saying all the wrong things.
“Oh here Amne comes.” some one else said. I waved to signal the boys to leave, and they did what I wanted them to do as if they were my toys.
“They’re twins! Identical twins!” the guy who always seemed to be with Amne shouted. I found it hilarious though as he always looks at me exactly like the rest of the brainless men here. He was just as stupid.
“Hear about my good news, sis?” I said with a big smile, I just loved making her feel low.
“Hear about mine?” she said smugly. How cute, Amne is trying to give me some attitude. I just couldn‘t help but smile at this, she always made me laugh so much.
“Blah, blah, Blah. Waaa I’m a little baby.” Amne said. Well at least that is all I heard from her anyway. Either way, she was boring me.
I had a lesson to go to but to be honest, I really didn’t care. They said something about that Seifer guy coming in to talk to us about some issue or something. I didn’t care much for him though. He used to be my idol when he went all evil and tried to help the sorceress, I had the biggest crush on him back then. Nowadays, it just seems he is so far up Squall‘s ass, I feel embarrassed for him. Neither of them a worth talking about anymore, they both annoy me. So instead of having to put up with that pathetic moogle, I thought I would just go hang out in the training centre.
“Hey Renea.” I heard a voice say from behind me and as I turned to look I was ever so happy to see that it was Amne’s follower. Lucky me. “I Just wanted to ask you if you could go a little easy on Amne in the tournament?” he asked. What a joke it was to ask me that.
“And why should I do that, Nancy?” I asked.
“Well... My name is Roth.” He said, for some reason sounding shocked that I called him a girls name. “And, well I know you’re a good person and everyone knows you’re stronger than Amne, so can’t you just beat her without rubbing it in.” Roth asked.
I’m good person? It seemed funny that he didn’t seem to know me at all. I don’t give two damns about my sister and the only entertainment I get in this dump is making my sisters life a misery. Digging deep inside myself, I started to cry.
“Renea?” Roth said sounding very confused. “Are you all right?”
“You all think you know me! That I’m this confident girl who everyone loves. Do you know how hard it is to try and live up to everyone’s standards?” I sobbed, burying my face into my hands.
“Well… I’m sorry?” he said, even more confused then he was before. It seemed he wasn’t expecting this from me.
“I train too, ever so hard. But of course you only hear Amne’s side of the story. No one will ever understand me.” I cried even harder. The idiot called Roth then put his hand on my shoulder as if that would comfort me.
“I’m sorry, I just wanted you to… not make Amne sad.” he said, really not knowing what to say. I looked up at him with red puffy eyes.
“I love my sister. No one cares about her more than I do. You know, it’s hard having a this rivalry between us. I don‘t like it at all.” I sobbed even more.
“I can talk to her for you.” Roth smiled.
“I would like that.” I said, smiling back at him as I wiped the tears away. He then proceeded to run off smiling like the good little toy he is. Watching him I couldn’t help but relish the fact that I can cry on cue. This little charade might make little Amne reach out to me some more. I smiled to myself.
All day, I constantly had to put up with a never ending supply of idiots talking to me about the Holy Mission. I couldn’t sit down for two seconds without some one talking to me. It was starting to really piss me off. Was I not entitled to get some peace? I had to say that the one thing, and I do mean just one thing only, that I actually envy about my sister is that no one wants to talk to her. That thought brought a smile to my face as I knew that a lot of that was to do with me. Just now, some “so called” pretty boy was telling me a story about… something that I didn’t care too much about. Don’t ask me what it was, I really couldn’t tell you. He looked hurt when I stood up and left the Quad without even saying goodbye.
I made my way to my room and when I got there I looked in the mirror. I studied myself for a moment, before I began to practise making some faces that Amne makes, until I was happy that my expressions mimicked hers perfectly. Puffy lips, looking worried in my eyes. It made me laugh for a moment as the idea formed in my head and I turned to look down at my roommate’s curling iron. Once again I smiled to myself. I always enjoyed pretending to be Amne for a day… I would be such a great actor.
I waited until the iron was hot enough to burn my finger tips and I proceeded to slowly made tacky curls into my hair.
At least now I was getting a brake from all those stupid men that follow me around like lost puppies.
“Hey Amne.” I heard a male voice call from behind me. There is no way a guy would like her. I put on Amne’s goofy looking smile and turn to look at who it was. I don’t think I had ever seen him before.
“Hi” I said as friendly as I could, making me feel so stupid.
“I don’t believe we have spoken before. My name is Cas.” He said, trying to sound cool for some reason.
“No?” I asked, not that I cared, but I did find it amusing that someone other than that Ross guy wanted to speak to her.
“You’re Renea’s sister, right? Well of course you are, sorry.” Now he was sounding like an idiot as he spoke, but at least he was making some sense. He, like everyone else, was interested in me.
“Yes, it is rather silly of you.” I replied, as bluntly as I could without giving myself away. He looked slightly embarrassed.
“Well I was just, you know?” He said, looking at me for a cue. I shook my head, this was actually quite funny. It was obvious he liked me, Renea, and was asking my polite little sister for some advise. “You talk to her, don’t you?”
“We have been known to talk, once or twice.” I said. He nodded as if that too was obvious, which it was. “What’s your point?”
“I wanted to talk to her, only when I tried, she sort of brushed me off. It was like I wasn’t there.” He said, and that almost made me laugh. How could I notice him, he would just drown in with the rest of them?
“Well you’re nothing special, so I don’t think she’d be interested in you.” I said, walking away.
“What are you doing?” I heard a very familiar and annoying voice say. I looked around.
“Hmm… Why would they put a mirror in the middle of the Quad? Strange.” I said mockingly.
“This is not funny Renea! How dare you pretend to be me!” she yelled in such a high pitch that she might as well have been crying. I wish she would cry, that would have been fun to watch.
“What’s wrong with me wanting to change my hair style now and then?”
“I can’t believe you. No, actually I can believe you… moan, moan, waaa.” She said as I tuned out. Who wants to listen to that whining cow?
“I’m actually hoping that we get to fight each other in the tournament. Then maybe I could teach you a lesson!” She exclaimed. I started to laugh once again at her, this time she was being extremely funny.
“As if you could win. I’ve beaten you since we were kids and I’m going to beat you a in Trabia.” I said. This time she smiled. That didn’t happen too often when she spoke to me.
“Not this time.” she said, all cocky and sure of herself. I didn’t really see what the big deal was because it wasn’t as if anyone liked her anyway. And I’ve done this lots of time and she wasn’t upset then. Ether way, I was really starting to lose my patience with her.
“Why wait until the tournament?” I asked while pulling out my gunblade and stabbing her in the shoulder. She cried out in pain as some other students started panicking around us. I pulled my blade out and I heard her let out another moan as she dropped to her knees. Everyone seemed to look shocked and confused as I heard some of them mumbling things like, “Is that Renea or Amne.” I smiled to myself as I looked down at Amne who was still kneeling on the floor holding her wound, with her hand shaking. Feeling that I hadn’t finished proving my point, I kicked Amne in the face and watched her collapse onto the floor. I then looked around at the witnesses, scanning their faces. There was only about five of them and I think I had seen them all before.
“Tell anyone and the rest of you will get the same treatment.” I snapped at them.
“Do you not feel bad that you might have to fight your sister?” some other guy asked. Well that was a stupid question! I wasn’t going to talk to this idiot again.
